Welcome to my blog! My name is Atiksh and I live in Iowa. Initially, (especially in fourth grade) I only read because it was mandatory and my teacher said I had to read 20-30 minutes a night; I never remembered anything that I read due to my desire to read rapidly. But when I had to log my minutes read on a reading log in fifth grade, I had to do a write-up about the book I was reading at the end of each week. This forced me to restart and refresh my thoughts on reading (which is to now remember and enjoy books)! I believe that the diversity of plots that occur in books let readers gain knowledge about what people with different backgrounds go through in a society. I take pride in being part of a Hopewell Elementary Culture of Reader’s. A Culture of Reader’s are a group of people whose intentions are to change themselves and others through literature. I want to share my reading experience and inspire others to read certain pieces of (quite marvelous) literature. My goal is to make all of us as a community of readers, learn about the diverse cultures and people in the vast world around us. Like me, we should become readers who are able to analyze and evaluate our books, but more importantly learn from the characters that we love.
